Tired of updating it by hand?
This thermometer is a snapshot: when the total changes, you make a new one. Goal Tracker reads your numbers from a Google Sheet, so whoever keeps the books updates the sheet and your website follows. It adds up a list of gifts, counts donors and days left, marks milestones and celebrates when you reach the goal. One-time price from $19.
Why a fundraising thermometer works
People give more readily when they can see the goal, see that others have already given, and see that the gap is small enough for their gift to matter. A thermometer shows all three at a glance, which is why it has outlasted every fundraising trend.
Tips
- Share it often. A new picture every week, or at each milestone, gives you a reason to post and email again.
- Start after a few lead gifts. A thermometer at 30% gets more gifts than one at zero.
- Put the website version where people give. Top of the giving page, the home page during the campaign, and any page you link to from emails.
- Name the cause on the button. "Give to the roof fund" beats "Donate".
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Use the images and code for any campaign, as often as you like. Nothing is uploaded: everything happens in your browser.
Will the website version update itself?
No. It shows the numbers you typed. To change it, come back, type the new total and paste the new code. For a thermometer that updates from a spreadsheet, see Goal Tracker.
Can I put it in an email newsletter?
Use the image. Most email programs don't show website code reliably, but every one shows a picture.
